The Grand is part of the Meraki Hospitality Group family, a creation of award-winning Chef and Owner Chris Pappas.

The Grand Story

The idea of creating a dynamic catering company and event space in Northwest Indiana stemmed from Chef Chris’ childhood, growing up with a family in the restaurant business. Working alongside his father, his appreciation for the hospitality industry grew as he watched his family’s business impact lives with enjoyable moments around the table. From an early age, he knew he was destined to continue his family’s legacy.

Chris’ love for the restaurant business led him to starting his own dining creations in his hometown of Crown Point. When the opportunity to partner with the historic Lake County Court House presented itself, he realized he could design an event venue unlike any other in NWI. Pairing his high-end catering and unparalleled service with one of the most important architectural expressions in Indiana, Chris decided to build a catering and event company with a grand appeal.

And so, The Grand was born.
